• 1:1 Intensive Treatment (20 hours or more)

The evidenced-based principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) are implemented to provide early intervention through individualized intensive treatment sessions. One-to-one intensive treatment first entails an assessment to identify the child’s specific needs. Once the child’s strengths and areas of need are identified, a behaviour plan is developed in collaboration with caregivers. Intensive treatment sessions focus on the development of language and functional skills across a number of domains, including the acquisition of developmental milestones. The aim is to increase functional skills, replace and reduce any challenging behaviours and increase functional independence.

Throughout these sessions, the therapist collects data on all the identified goals and progress is measured based on the results. The data is used to guide modifications that may be needed to optimize learning. Caregivers learn how to help their child generalize newly acquired skills so the child can transfer what they have learned with other people, in other settings and with other items/materials.

Intensive services are provided for a minimum of 6 months.

  • 1:1 Foundational Skills (10 hours or less)

Foundational Skills offer the same benefits of services as intensive treatment specifically identifying the child’s strengths and needs and developing a behaviour plan in collaboration with caregivers. Foundational Skills are offered in a one-to-one format in blocks of 10 hours or less per week. Data is collected and progress is monitored to guide and support goals. Caregivers are taught the skills to generalize the goals across the various environments the child is in.

Foundational Skills services are provided for a minimum of 6 months.

  • Group Services

Group services offers opportunities for children to learn appropriate social skills and to participate with peers in a social setting. To promote peer interaction, social learning opportunities are provided to children between the ages of 4 to 10 in our small group inclusive setting. Data is taken by therapists throughout sessions to assess and support the development of individualized social skill goals that are embedded within learning and play activities, designed to promote communication, participation, turn-taking, play interactions, managing emotions, and cooperation.

Group services are provided in 8 to 12 session blocks.

  • Caregiver Coaching

Caregiver Coaching focuses on teaching specific strategies that align with goals that have been established with the caregiver. Caregivers are an integral part of the child’s life. This coaching service is available to assist caregivers with identifying a child’s skills and needs, to determine goals that are meaningful for the child and the family and build caregiver’s capacity with developing a plan with strategies they feel confident in implementing. Consultation notes are provided after each session for the caregiver’s reference and to support the implementation of the strategies until the next session.   The child’s skills are assessed at each session to measure progress and make changes as needed to help both the child and the caregiver achieve the identified goals.

Parent Coaching services are provided in 6 to 12 session blocks.

  • Goal Specific Consultations

The number of goal specific consultation sessions are based on the time it takes to achieve the goal and a minimum number of sessions are established at the onset of the service.

  • Community Trainings

Community Trainings are focused on building capacity and skills of key members in a child’s life. Training is offered to multiple community members that include: caregivers, extended family, childcare professionals, school team members, as well as those interested in learning ABA principles. Training sessions can take place individually or can be offered to groups. Depending on the professional’s needs, sessions may take place both in person and via telehealth.
